Just had a try on my XPhome "virtual" computer and managed 1 primary + 7 logical partitions in an extended partition, so it does not look like a limitation of WinXP home. FWIW and without more info my guess is either You

Free ghosting and partitioning software?
Since the contents of the HPA were purely for use by Acer's backup software (basically it's the Windows install files, plus third-party utilities), and I already had another backup (using TrueImage), AFAIWC that was just 3GB of wasted space, so I had deleted it and merged the free space into the Windows partition.

NO it means that IF there is free space THEN you can create an additional partition/logical drive (irregardless to what's on the rest of the disc). Can partitioning software such as "Partition Commander" do the trick. Actually, what I want is to eliminate the D: partition as well as converting the 99MB to partiton: you probably have a lot of Registry and .INI entries pointing to the D: drive. The commercial software will not come on the free DVD, but after you install from the DVD you can set up your mirrors (http://www.easyurpmi.zarb for an easy selection), A clean install in a new partition is a much better solution. If so, can I re-instal it so that it does work, perhaps from the 10.1 CDs?
